*~*~* April Offerings *~*~*

It is officially Spring and hopefully here in New England the weather will start to warm up and the flowers will start to bloom, so in the meantime  I have stitched lots and lots of floral motifs into my samplers this month.
I hope you enjoy them all!

Each of the samplers that I make are my own One-Of-A-Kind designs, made without patterns, just a simple needle and thread and away I go, putting love into every stitch. Some of them have intentional mistakes and/or missing letters as old samplers might have had.

Blessings to all!

Eliza Marker 1841

This is a beautiful large sampler that will be stunning in your home, a very nice statement piece!
This has been stitched onto antique linen that has been heavily aged and distressed.
It was stitched by Eliza Marker in 1841.

She has used authentic looking shades of Blues, Barn Reds and Golds to stitch a full alphabet and number set. She has stitched her name 'Eliza Marker aged 10 years 1841' There are various dividing bands as well as a beautiful centerpiece of large antique florals, butterflies, birds and antique vessels, and her initials.

It has been framed in a large antique wooden frame with a great aged chippy white/cream paint on it. It measures 13" x 17".  It is paper-backed and has tiny copper nails and wire for hanging. It has been signed and dated by myself on the back.

Joy Payne 1875

This is a small, yet utterly charming sampler. This has been stitched onto a small piece of antique linen. The linen had some original small cutwork along the edges, so I worked it into 2 of the lower left-hand sides of the sampler (as seen in the close-up pictures). The linen has been heavily aged and distressed.

This was stitched by Joy Payne in 1875. There is a partial uppercase alphabet, a small bird, little dividing motifs and a beautiful growing flower.

It is framed in an antique wooden frame that has a very muted green paint with a distressed white and light gold white-washed look to it. The edges have been carved. It measures 7 1/2" x 10 1/4".  It is paper-backed and has tiny screw eyes with wire for hanging. It has been signed and dated by myself on the back.

This adorable sampler is being offered at $55.00 plus travel fare

Lucy Shepherd 1823

This great reproduction sampler has been stitched onto antique linen that has been heavily aged and distressed. It is a great long and narrow size. It was stitched by Lucy Shepherd in 1823

Lucy attended the Porter School in Providence where she was tasked with producing a sampler with a full alphabet and number set, various motifs as well as different ways to style her initials. This would have been very helpful in Lucy's future as to mark her linen's and clothes for her future household.

It has been framed in an antique wooden frame. It measures 10" x 16 1/2".  It is paper-backed and has tiny copper nails and wire for hanging. It has been signed and dated by myself on the back.

It is being kindly offered at $80.00 plus travel fare

Betsy Olsen 1875

I absolutely love this sampler and the antique standing swivel frame. This was stitched onto antique linen that has been heavily aged and distressed. This was stitched by Betsy Olsen in 1875.

She has used charming period colors and stitched a full uppercase and partial lowercase as well as a full number set. She has stitched a beautiful variety of antique motifs (birds, florals, corner designs, dividing bands, hearts) She has also stitched her name 'Betsy Olsen, age 8, 1875' and her tiny initials.

This has been framed behind the original glass in a large antique wooden standing swivel frame. The frame has scroll-work on the top and beautiful carvings all around the frame. The color of the frame is a gorgeous Pewter Gray. It measures (with the stand) 12 1/2" wide x 13" tall. It has been paper-backed. It is signed and dated by myself on the back.

This stunning sampler is being offered at $130.00 plus travel fare
